Overview [ ]
The 2018-19 season was Fulham 's 137th season, and the club's first return to the Premier League after four years in the Championship .
The club spent over £100 million in the summer transfer window ahead of the new campaign, which had made them the first promoted team to do so in the Premier League . Big money signings included Jean Michaël Seri from Nice for a reported £27 million, André Zambo Anguissa from Marseille for around £22 million and Aleksandar Mitrović for another £22 million from Newcastle United . The club were touted by many to finish comfortably in the league, however, this was certainly not the case.
The club started poorly and never quite recovered, shipping plenty of goals in the process. Slaviša Jokanović ' reign lasted only until November, when Claudio Ranieri had replaced him. This only lasted a few months before former player turned coach Scott Parker was handed a caretaker role until the end of the season, though it was too late to prevent Fulham from relegation. Finishing in a lowly 19th position, lack of quality recruitment was to blame despite the large amount of money spent.
