Ademola Lookman is a forward who played for Fulham on loan from RB Leipzig in the 2020-21 season. Capable of playing anywhere across the front line, he is more comfortable on the left wing. He had represented England up to U21 level, before switching international allegiance to Nigeria in 2022.

Career

Before Fulham

Ademola rose through the ranks at Charlton Athletic's academy where he broke into the first team at an early age. He then made a move to Premier League Everton before he was loaned out to German side RB Leipzig. This move was made permanent a year and a half later, in 2019-20.

Fulham (2020-2021)

Ademola signature was confirmed by Fulham on 30 September 2020 in a season-long loan deal from RB Leipzig. He made his debut the very next day, coming on as a half-time substitute during a 3-0 loss away to Brentford in the EFL Cup.

Ademola scored his first goal for the club during a 1-1 draw away at Sheffield United in the Premier League on 18 October 2020.

On 7 October 2020, Ademola missed a vital penalty in the dying seconds of a 1-0 loss away to West Ham. Usual penalty taker Aleksandar Mitrović did not step up to take the spot-kick, and Ademola embarressingly sent a failed 'panenka'-style penalty feebly into the arms of Łukasz Fabiański. In the following match against Everton, Fulham were awarded another penalty, although Ivan Cavaleiro would take it and also miss.

His second goal came at the end of November as he netted the first goal in an impressive 2-1 away win over Leicester City.

His form somewhat dipped as the season progressed despite promising performances early on. However, he remained a starter on the left wing for the whole season, finishing with four League goals from 34 appearances. Unfortunately, he could not prevent Fulham from another relegation from the Premier League back to the Championship.

After Fulham

Ademola returned to the Premier League the following season he had left Fulham, on another season-long loan deal this time to Leicester City in a deal finalised on deadline day 31 August 2021.

After his spell at Leicester, he made a permanent transfer to Serie A side Atalanta in the summer of 2022.
