Andy Lonergan was a goalkeeper who played for Fulham from 2015 until 2016. Signed from Bolton Wanderers on a free transfer in the summer of 2015, he is an experienced Football League goalkeeper, a large portion of his career spent at his hometown club Preston North End. He spent just one season at Craven Cottage, and despite some good performances, was sold to Wolves the following summer.

Career[]

Before Fulham[]

Fulham (2015-2016)[]

Andy signed on a free transfer with Fulham on 19 June 2015, with his contract starting 1 July. He saw playing time straight away throughout pre-season, and made his official debut as he started in goal in the first league match of 2015-16 against Cardiff City in a 1-1 draw. Although seen as number two to Marcus Bettinelli initially, a nasty knee ligament injury gave Andy the number one spot for the foreseeable future. On 29 August 2015, Fulham picked up their first league win of the season away at Rotherham as Andy saved a penalty in the second half.

Despite a poor season collectively for the club, Andy had many strong performances as he covered for Marcus Bettinelli throughout the season. However, he was deemed surplus to requirements by Slaviša Jokanović and sold in summer 2016.

After Fulham[]

Andy signed for fellow Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers prior to the 2016-17 season for a fee thought to be in the region of £500,000.

In 2019, he joined Liverpool after training with the club as a backup goalkeeper and signed a one year deal with them.
