Caelen Avenall played for Fulham's academy as a centre back. He signed a scholarship deal in 2021 but was released from the club in 2024, shortly before signing a deal with Brentford.
Caelen joined the club as an Under-9 play in 2013. After progressing through the age groups, he began making appearances on the bench for the U18 squad in 2020-21, before making his debut for the U17 squad in the inaugral U17 Premier League Cup.
He signed a two-year scholarship deal with the club on 1 July 2021, but was unable to make his debut for the U18 squad due to a long term injury, which kept him out of the side for the duration of the 2021-22 season.
Caelen finally made his debut for the U18 squad in the season opener of 2022-23. Despite this, his season was cut short, once again by injury in late of November 2022.
It took him until January 2024 before he was fit enough to be featured in a matchday squad, coming off the bench to make his U21 squad debut in a 3-1 win over Benfica B in the Premier League International Cup. The following month, he scored his first goal for the U21's when he netted the only Fulham goal during a 1-1 draw away at Burnley U21 in the Premier League Cup.
Caelan was loaned out to Walton & Hersham on 1 February 2024 for the remainder of the 2023-24 season for his first taste of senior football.
He was released from the club upon the expiry of his contract in the summer of 2024.
After Fulham[]
After a five-week trial with Brentford's B team, Caelan's signing was announced by them on 19 Sept 2024, in what was described as a short-term deal.
