Calvin Bassey is a centre back currently playing for Fulham. Signed in the summer of 2023 from Ajax for £19.3 million under Marco Silva, he represents Nigeria at international level.

Fulham (2023-present)[]
Calvin signed for Fulham on 28 July 2023 for a fee of £19.3 million. He made his debut off the bench in a 3-0 loss at home to Brentford on 19 August 2023.
The following week, he made his first start for the club against Arsenal, in part due to Tim Ream's suspension following a red card during the Brentford match. Calvin was also sent off, after being shown a second yellow card in a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium late in the second half.
In his second league start, he gave the ball away on occasions which led to both of Tottenham's goals during a 2-0 away loss on 23 October 2023. This was despite an otherwise strong performance, deputising for the injured Issa Diop.
Along with fellow Fulham teammate Alex Iwobi, Calvin was unavailable throughout January and part of Februiary 2024 due to participating in the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria, where they finished as runners-up. Upon his return, he scored his first official Fulham goal during a fantastic 2-1 win at Old Trafford on 24 February 2024.
