Career[]

Before Fulham[]

Fulham (2016-2017)[]

Chris' season-long loan deal was announced on transfer deadline day on 31 August 2016. After an initial goal drought that had followed on from the tail end of the previous season, he scored his first goal for the club when he headed in the fourth in a 4-2 victory away at Barnsley on 15 October 2016.

He hit the headlines in late December 2016 when, before a match against Reading (which was subsequently abandoned) news broke that he had refused to play, with comments from Slaviša Jokanović not defending the striker in his decision. It transpired that Chris was pushing for a return to his club Derby County, with the manager Steve McClaren vocal about his wish to bring him back, though Jokanović was adament that he would not be handing back a striker to a rival promotion contender. He returned to play for Fulham on 14 January 2017 in a 2-0 win at home to Barnsley where he scored the opening goal from the penalty spot.

He remained a starter under Slaviša Jokanović until the end of the season, enjoying success with the team making it through to the Championship play-offs.
