Derek Boateng was a midfielder who played for Fulham in the 2013-14 season. A strong holding midfielder, he represented Ghana internationally. After struggling to make an impact in his one and only season at the club, he was transferred to Spanish side Rayo Vallecano in the summer transfer window 2014.

Career

Fulham (2013-2014)

Derek's signing was confirmed by Fulham on 22 May 2013 on a free transfer, with him officially joining on 1 July 2013. He enjoyed a good pre-season tour to Costa Rica shortly after joining up with the first team and made his debut on the opening game of the season away at Sunderland as a starter. Unfortunately for Derek, he struggled to see much playing time thereafter as Martin Jol preferred the midfield paring of Steve Sidwell and fellow new signing Scott Parker.

After only five appearances for the club, Derek was released at the end of the season and moved to Rayo Vallecano in Spain.
