The FA Cup is a competition competed in annually by Fulham. The first season it was held was in 1871-72, and it wasn't until the 1896-97 season that Fulham first entered, bowing out at the first attempting in a qualifying round losing 5-0 to Swanscombe in Kent.
The club decided not to enter for the next two seasons, but returned in 1899-00, and have entered every year since. They qualified for the first round proper for the first time in their history in 1903-04, but lost to Woolwich Arsenal.
In 1907-08, Fulham reached the first of several semi-finals in their history. Unfortunately, they suffered a heavy 6-0 defeat to Newcastle United at Anfield.
Perhaps the clubs most embarrassing Cup defeat came at the hands of non-league Hayes in 1991-92, when they bowed out in the first round at home, losing 2-0.
Fulham have exited at the Semi-final stage on five occasions, the most recent being the Fulham 0-1 Chelsea (2001-02 FA Cup Semi-final|1-0 loss]] to Chelsea at Villa Park in the 2001-02 season.
