Statistics[]
Images[]0-1: The decision went against Fulham as Steve Sidwell was adjudged to have brought down Silva on the edge of the box. Yaya Touré then executed the perfect free-kick which kissed the underside of the bar before going in as Fulham were completely helpless from preventing going a goal down 0-2: On 43 minutes, Man City went 2-0 up. Another set-piece, this time crossed from the right, Demichelis headed towards goal and Stekelenburg palmed out only as far as Vincent Kompany, who poked the ball home 1-2: Kieran Richardson scored his first goal in nearly a year after a fantastic break from Fulham. Great work from Adel Taarabt up the left flank eventually found Richardson unmarked as he played a cross pass for him for an easy finish 2-2: Rather deservedly, Fulham drew level half-way through the second half after a comical own goal by Man City captain Vincent Kompany. Sascha Riether played in a weak low cross from the right which Kompany attempted to clear with his left foot; this was sliced completely wrong as the ball looped up and over Joe Hart and off the post and in 2-3: Pacey Spanish substitute Jesús Navas put the visitors ahead after he outpaced Fernando Amorebieta and struck a shot from an angle between the legs of Maarten Stekelenburg 2-4: Victory for the former champions was secured in the 84th minute after an incredible pass from Negredo with the outside of his left foot from the right found James Milner, who finished first time beating Stekelenburg to his right
