Career[]

Before Fulham[]

Born and raised in Scotland, George played his football at Annbank before a brief move down to England in 1896 to play for Blackpool. He quickly move back hoever, and signed for Hibernian to play out the 1897-97 season.

After a second spell with Annbank, George had another crack at playing in England - this time signing for Glossop North End, whom he enjoyed three and a half seasons with until he broke his leg playing against Gainsborough Trinity in January 1902. He then missed the entirety of the following season because of this before he moved to Fulham.

Fulham (1903-1904)[]

George signed for Fulham on 16 December 1903, adding to the already large squad that the club had assembled to compete in Division One of the Southern League. After making his debut on Boxing Day 1903 in a 1-1 draw away to rivals Brentford, he managed only five more Southern League appearances and four London League appearances.

Manager Harry Bradshaw decided he was surplus to requirements and George was allowed to leave for free in the summer fo 1904.

After Fulham[]

George finished his footballing career back in Scotland, first having a third spell with his first club Annbank, then moving to Port Glasgow Athletic where he played from 1908 until 1910.
