George Okkas played for Fulham 's academy as a defensive midfielder from 2020 until 2024. Also capable of playing at left back , he has represented Cyprus up to U21 level and is the son of legendary cypriot footballer Giannis Okkas.
Career [ ] Before Fulham [ ] George was born in Greece , due to his father playing for AEK Athens at the time. He played for the Arsenal Elite AcademyCyprus , playing for Anorthosis Famagusta in their youth setup.
Fulham (2020-present) [ ] George signed for Fulham on a scholarship deal in the summer of 2020. He made his debut for the U18 squad in a 2-1 win at West Ham United U18 in September 2020.
He had a short spell on loan to Harrow Borough , making his debut for them in an FA Cup qualifying tie against Bracknell on 3 September 2022.
He progressed through to the U21 squad in the 2022-23 season , and made his professional debut the following season in a 3-3 draw at Portsmouth in the EFL Trophy . Starting in the unfamiliar role of left back , George unfortunately got sent off late in the first half after receiving two yellow cards.
He was released in the summer of 2024.
After Fulham [ ] George signed for Portuguese side Rio Ave on 9 July 2024, days after his release from Fulham .
