George Wickens played for Fulham's academy as a goalkeeper until 2024. An England youth international making an appearance for the U18 national team, he signed a scholarship deal in the summer of 2018 before signing a professional deal the following year.
George had been part of the club's academy for several years before he signed a two year scholarship deal on 1 July 2018.
He made his debut for the U18 squad on 20 December 2017 in a 2-1 loss at home to Swansea City, not long after turning 16. Less than a year later, George made a professional debut for the U23 squad on 4 September 2018 in the EFL Trophy match away to Oxford United as he came off the bench to replace the red-carded Toni Stahl in a 3-0 loss.
On 12 August 2021, George was then sent out on a season-long loan to National League Wealdstone to gain valuable experience and his first taste of senior football and was given their number 1 shirt for the 2021-22 season.
After spending a season and a half back with Fulham's U21 squad, George moved to the Scottish Premier League to play for Ross County on loan for the second half of the 2023-24 season. He made headlines in February 2024 when he set a new league record for most saves made in a match during a 3-1 defeat to Rangers, in which he pulled off 19 saves including keeping out two penalties.
After Fulham[]
Despite Fulham offering a new contract to George, he wanted first team football and signed for League One's Lincoln City on 21 July 2024.
