Ibane Bowat played for Fulham's academy from 2017 until 2024. He signed as a first year scholar ahead of the 2019-20 season but failed to make a first team appearance. He currently represents Scotland internationally, but remains eligible to represent England, France or Cameroon.
Ibane played for Chelsea's academy from the ages of 6 to 12, before taking up Rugby Union playing for Halequins' youth team. He later regained his interest in football and began playing for a local team before being noticed by Fulham scouts.
Fulham (2017-2024)[]
Ibane signed for Fulham in 2017, joining up with the U16 squad, before signing a two-year scholarship deal with the club on 1 July 2019.
He was called up to the Scotland U19 team in October 2020, and after interest from several clubs in 2021, he made his debut for the U23 squad on 15 March away to Stoke City U23 in a 1-0 loss.
He made his debut for Scotland U21 in November 2022 shortly before his first loan move in January 2023 to FC Den Bosch, playing in the Netherlands' second tier. He made a total of sixteen league appearances for them, which unfortunately included a 13-0 loss to PEC Zwolle which was a record loss in Dutch professional football.
It was announced on 13 July 2023 that Ibane had signed a deal with Austrian top tier side TSV Hartberg, which would see him there for the entirety of the 2023-24 season.
After Fulham[]
Ibane signed a permanent deal for Portsmouth on 30 August 2024, for a reported fee of £500,000.
