Issa Diop is a centre back who currently plays for Fulham. A towering, athletic defender, he has represented France internationally up to U21 level.

Issa's signature was announced by the club on 10 August 2022, for an undisclosed fee reported to be £15 million. After initially having to spend his time on the substitutes' bench, he was selected in a Premier League fixture to start ahead of then-first choice centre back Tosin Adarabioyo on 15 October 2022 and marked this with a goal in a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth at Craven Cottage.
On 24 January 2024, in Fulham's 1-1 draw with Liverpool in the second leg of the EFL Cup Semi-final, Issa scored the equalising goal that set up an interesting finish to the match. Despite playing in his usual centre back role, he found himself up in the attacking third and connected with a Harry Wilson cross in the 77th minute.
He was given a red card following a second yellow late on in a 4-0 loss at home to Manchester City on 11 May 2024.
After starting the 2024-25 season as a first choice centre back alongside Calvin Bassey, he was quickly replaced in favour of new signing and returnee to the club Joachim Andersen. On 19 October 2024, Issa had an afternoon to forget as he scored an own goal one minute after coming off the bench in a 3-1 loss at home to Aston Villa.
