Jerome Opoku played for Fulham's academy as a defender from 2008 until 2022. His main position is as a centre back but is capable of playing on the left. He has represented Ghana at full international level.
Jerome joined the club as a nine year-old in 2008 and progressed through the age groups.
He made his debut for the U18 squad aged just 15 in the tailend of the 2013-14 season. He signed a scholarship deal with the club ahead of the 2015-16 season and after a strong season in the heart of the U18's defence the following season he was rewarded by training with and playing for the first team during their pre-season preparations in July 2017.
After progression to the U23 squad, Jerome became captain of the side for the latter half of 2018-19 after Aron Davies had left the club.
He then joined Accrington Stanley on loan for the duration of 2019-20, before another loan move the following season to Plymouth Argyle.
Another loan move for Jerome gave him the oppertunity to play abroad for the first time in his career, as he spent all of the 2021-22 season with Danish side Vejle. Upon his return, he was one of a number of players within the academy to be released by the club.
