Jon Esenga currently plays for Fulham's academy as a defender, playing as either a left back or a centre back. Known for his impressive crossing ability, he has represented England up to U17 level to date.

Fulham (2014-present)[]
Jon joined the club at the pre-academy phase at around 7 years old. He progressed his way through all the age groups to earn himself a scholarship deal with the club in the summer of 2023. Prior to this though, he had already made his breakthrough to the U18 squad aged just 15, when he was selected as part of a 19-man squad to travel to Switzerland for the FC Aesch U19 Tournament in July 2022. He went on to make thirteen league appearances in 2022-23 for the U18's.
Jon's professional debut came on 22 August 2023, playing the full match at centre back in a 3-3 draw away at Portsmouth in an EFL Trophy fixture for the U21 squad.
On 5 December 2023, Jon scored his first goal in professional football during a 3-2 loss away at Wycombe Wanderers in the EFL Trophy. He then went on to sign his first professional contract with the club in late May of 2024.
Following on from this, first team head coach Marco Silva chose him to be part of the team's pre-season preparations in Portugal. He featured on the bench for their 1-0 win over Benfica on 2 August 2024.
He registered an impressive hat-trick of assists on 1 November 2025 during a 5-1 win away at Reading U21.
