Julian Schwarzer played for Fulham's academy as a goalkeeper in two spells from 2016 until 2022. Son of former Fulham man Mark Schwarzer, Julian signed a two year scholarship with the club in 2016, but was released in 2018. He would later return to the club in 2021 on a short-term deal. He has made full international caps for the Philippines.

Career[]

Before Fulham[]

Fulham (2016-2018 & 2020-2022)[]

Julian signed a two year scholarship deal with the club on 1 Jul 2016 and would join up with the U18 squad. However, he failed to make an appearance in his first full season with them.

He made his U18 debut on 25 November 2017 in a 2-2 draw at home to Norwich City.

He travelled to Bolton Wanderers with the first team squad on 10 March 2018 as the third goalkeeper for the day.

Julian was released in the summer of 2018 after failing to secure a new contract. He returned to the club in October 2020 after a short stint with Basingstoke Town on a short term deal, and re-signed for Fulham at the start of the 2021-22 season. He made his debut for the U23 squad in a Premier League Cup match against Stoke City U23 on 10 February 2022, running out 2-1 winners.

On 4 March 2022, he signed a loan deal with Kingstonian for the rest of the 2021-22 season, before his second release from the club in the summer of 2022.

After Fulham[]

After Julian was released by Fulham, he signed for German fourth division side FC Pipinsried on 27 August 2018. Following this, he returned to England and signed for Non-League Harlow Town on a free transfer in April 2019.

In the summer of 2020, he signed for Basingstoke Town, but months later re-signed for Fulham as a backup goalkeeper for the U23 squad, sitting on the bench for several of their league matches.

After another spell back at Fulham, he joined Filipino side Azkals Development Team in August 2022, one month after making his international debut with the Philippines. He gained his first cap when coming on for the second half in a friendly match against Timor-Leste.

Trivia[]

As well as his famous footballing father, Julian's grandfather on his mothers side, Arturo García, was a Filipino professional footballer.
