Junichi Inamoto was a midfielder, formerly of Fulham. He was brought in on a season-long loan from Japanese side Gamba Osaka in the summer of 2002 after his appearances in the World Cup just a month previous, and after an unsuccessful loan spell at Arsenal in the 2001-02 season. Although he made an initial impact by scoring a hat-trick and securing the Intertoto Cup in the 3-1 victory over Bologna, Inamoto found game time hard to come by and regularly enough - only managing 9 starts all season. However, he did enough to convince then manager Chris Coleman to extend his stay at Fulham for another season. His crowning moment in a Fulham shirt other than the aforementioned hat-trick was most certainly the third goal in the famous 3-1 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford in 2003.
