Kostas Stafylidis is a defender who played at Fulham during the 2014-15 season on loan from Bayern Leverkusen. Primarily a left back, he was a member of the Greece U19 side which were European runners-up in 2012 and has already made his full international debut despite his young age.

Career

Fulham (2014-2015)

Kostas posted a picture of himself in Fulham's training gear on twitter during a medical on 8 July 2014, all but confirming his signing for the club. Greek and German journalists had previously confirmed that the move would be a season-long loan. After a strong pre-season with Fulham, he made his debut on 9 August 2014 in the League opener against Ipswich Town. He started his first few games at left back, but was brought into a central midfield role by Felix Magath, and when Kit Symons took over, he too preferred Kostas the left side of a three man midfield though was dropped back into the left back position after Fernando Amorebieta picked up an injury.

He was a mainstay at left back for virtually the whole season, but he was sent off against Leeds United on 18 March 2015 after receiving two yellow cards in the space of a minute, and was suspended for the following match. Despite some good performances throughout the season, Kostas' stay was not to be extended and Fulham did not attempt to sign the young Greek and he returned to parent club Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2015.
