Liam Donnelly was a defender who played at Fulham from 2012 until 2016. Capable of playing in either the centre or the right side of defence, Liam also grew into a defensive midfield role during his latter months at the club. He has represented Northern Ireland at full international level.
Born in Dungannon, Northern Ireland, he played for his hometown club Dungannon Swifts, making 8 appearances in the first team despite being only 15 years old.
Fulham (2012-2016)[]
Signed aged 16, Liam slotted into the defence of the U18 squad and won the national title with the club for two years running. He also won a runners-up medal in the FA Youth Cup and won the Dallas Cup.
In May 2014, Liam was called up to the full Northern Ireland squad and gained his first cap the following month.
Despite much promise, he failed to progress into the first team and was surprisingly let go in the summer of 2016.
After Fulham[]
Following a successful trial, Liam signed for Hartlepool United on a free transfer on 19 August 2016. After two seasons up north, he made the move to Scotland and signed for Motherwell in 2018 where he played until 2022.
