Luc de Fougerolles is a defender who currently plays for Fulham. A composed centre back, he is also capable of playing on either side of defence as a full back. He broke through to the first team squad in the 2023-24 season and represents Canada at international level.
Career[]
Before Fulham[]
Luc was born in London and played for Battersea Bedhead before his move to Fulham.
Fulham (2013-present)[]
Luc joined Fulham's academy in 2013 as an 8-year-old. He made his debut for the U18 squad at the beginning of the 2021-22 season, coming on as a substitute during a 1-0 win away at Reading U18 on 21 August 2021.
Eligible through his Canadian father, he was called up to Canada's U20 squad in April 2022, but failed to make an appearance due a clash with his GCSE exams. He then went on to make his Under-21 squad debut for Fulham, coming off the bench late on in a 2-0 win at home to Everton U21 on 30 September 2022.
Luc was handed his first professional contract with the club on 7 April 2023.
He later travelled to the United States with the first team for their pre-season preparations in July 2023, seeing plenty of gametime and earning himself plaudits for his composed performances across the three matches. His official first team debut came on 1 November 2023, as he played out the full 90 minutes in a 3-1 win at Ipswich Town in the EFL Cup.
Luc was called up to the men's Canada squad in November 2023, but did not make it to the pitch. He was made to wait until 23 March 2024, when coming on as a late substitute in 2-0 win over Trinidad & Tobago to earn his first cap.
