The England striker raced on to Anderson's through-ball, turned Brede Hangeland one way, then another before firing a fierce shot beyond Mark Schwarzer and into the net 3-0: Javier Hernández got on the scoresheet not long after the second goal. Wayne Rooney gathered the ball on the right of the penalty area, drifted away from John Arne Riise and cut the ball back across the penalty area, where Hernandez steered a low shot beyond Schwarzer's despairing dive. 4-0: It went from bad to worse for Fulham as Hernández grabbed his second of the evening after a deflected shot off Aaron Hughes left Schwarzer helpless from preventing it rolling into the back of the net 4-1: Aaron Hughes scored his first goal of the season in what was merely a consolation, after brilliantly heading in a Giorgos Karagounis corner from the right at a tight angle.
