Marlon Fossey played for Fulham as a right back from 2010 until 2022, mainly in the academy. Comfortable on the right flank either as a full back or a winger, pace was a key attribute for him having been a successful runner during his childhood. He has represented USA at full international level, winning his first cap in 2024.
After moving from Jersey, Marlon was signed up by Fulham initially as a centre forward. Due to his natural pace he was then played more as a winger before being converted back once more to an attacking full back.
Marlon made his first appearance in the U18 squad in 2013-14 season under Steve Wigley aged only 15, and made further appearances the following season, whilst still part of the U16 squad. He enjoyed a successful run in the U18 squad throughout 2015-16 in which he made the most appearances for the team. He was also given his first international appearance for the United States U19 & U20 teams.
Unfortunately, injury still plagued Marlon and he was out from large parts of both 2018-19 and 2019-20.
Upon Fulham's promotion to the Premier League in 2020, Marlon was loaned out to League One side Shrewsbury Town, originally for the duration of the 2020-21 season to gain first team experience. However, Marlon sustained an injury after only 7 league appearances for the club and he was sent back to Fulham on 29 December 2020.
He spent a short period on trial at Rotherham United during pre-season of 2021, taking part in a friendly match for the Millers, but was returned to Fulham afterwards. He was an unused substitute for the first team at home to Leeds United in an EFL Cup tie on 21 September 2021. On 3 January 2022, it was announced that he would spend the rest of the season on loan at League One side Bolton Wanderers.
Marlon finally made his first team debut at nearly 24 years of age when he played the full 90 minutes if a disappointing 2-0 loss away at Crawley Town on 23 August 2022 in the second round of the EFL Cup.
After Fulham[]
It was announced that Marlon had signed for Belgian side Standard Liège for fee in the region of £2 million on 6 September 2022. Two years into a successful spell with the club, he was called up to the United States national team and won his first cap on 10 September 2024 in a 1-1 draw against New Zealand.
