To date, Fulham have played Cardiff City competitively 58 times (won 25, drew 9, lost 24). 55 of these were league matches, 2 were in the League Cup and 1 was in the FA Cup.
The first meeting was in 1920 when Cardiff made a brief appearance in the Second Division, which resulted in a disappointing 3-0 loss at Craven Cottage. Meetings between the two sides were fairly common throughout the 1960's and 1970's due to their mainstay in the old Second Division. Fulham have enjoyed many good victories over the Welsh side, recording four 4-0 wins. After a takeover in 2012, Cardiff City were re-branded much to the annoyance of many of their fans, and their kit changed from blue to red, as well as a new red crest. However, on 10 January 2015 they changed back to a blue home kit for good as they played Fulham in a 1-0 loss.
