Matt O'Riley played for Fulham as a central midfielder from 2009 until 2020. A hot prospect at the club for a several years, Matt had played above his age group for several seasons and has represented both Denmark and England at youth level.
Career [ ] Before Fulham [ ] Prior to Fulham , Matt played for NPL Youth based in Teddington. His performances got the attention of many scouts, and was requested to join various academies, from U6 upwards. It was at U9 level that Matt left NPL and decided to join Fulham
Fulham (2009-2020) [ ] Matt is currently part of the academy as a scolar. He made his breakthrough to the U18 squad on his fifteenth birthday during the 2015-16 season .
He joined up with the first team squad for their entire pre-season schedule in 2017-18 and was handed his first squad number of 33 . He then made his debut as he started in a 2-0 win in the first round of the EFL Cup away to Wycombe Wanderers in August 2017.
In November 2018, he scored a hat-trick for the U23 squad at Craven Cottage in a Premier League Cup tie during a 5-0 win over Colchester United .
He made his League debut on New Years' Day 2020 as he came on during a 2-1 loss at home to Reading , though he was later substituted off.
After Fulham [ ] During the lockdown period of 2020 and before the resumption of football in 2019-20 , Matt decided against signing a new contract and was released from the club at the expiry of his contract on 1 July 2020.
Six months after he left Fulham , he signed for MK Dons on 24 January 2021. After one year of impressive performances, it was clear that Matt belonged at a higher level than that of League One , and he signed for Scottish giants Celtic . It was here that he would team up with former-Fulham teammate Moritz Jenz , who also signed for them six months later.
In the 2023-24 season , Matt won the Celtic player of the year scoring 19 goals. He moved to Brighton & Hove Albion in August 2024 for £25 million, but was injured just six minutes into his debut with the club, requiring ankle surgery.
