Nikolay Bodurov was a defender who played at Fulham from 2014 until 2016. A strong centre back who can also play on the right when needed, he was signed by Felix Magath from Litex Lovech in August 2014 ahead of the club's first Championship campaign. Nikolay represents Bulgaria at international level and has made a number of caps since his debut in 2010. Despite a promising start to his Fulham career, he was out of favour with a succession of managers in his stay with the club and his contract was mutually terminated in August 2016 by Slaviša Jokanović.
Nikolay's signature was officially confirmed on 1 August 2014, a week before Fulham's league campaign kicked off. He joined up with the first team squad for their last pre-season match in Austria and played the day after his signing. His debut came the following week along with 8 other players in the league opener at Ipswich Town. He became an instant hit with the fans and proved a mainstay in the heart of Fulham's defence.
He captained the side for the first time on 24 January 2015 in Fulham's 0-0 draw in the 4th round of the FA Cup against Sunderland. His first goal in English football came on 28 February 2015, in a 2-0 victory over table-toppers Derby County.
Throughout 2015-16, Nikolay barely featured at all, mainly due to new manager Slaviša Jokanović not using him for any matches. In the latter part of the season he was sent out on loan to FC Midtjylland, before he was released in August 2016 with his contract cut short as a mutual termination was agreed.
