Pavel Pogrebnyak played for Fulham in the latter half of the 2011-12 season, when brought in on a 6-month contract from Stuttgart. Despite performing well, scoring 6 league goals in 12 matches, Fulham were unable to secure a deal with Pogrebnyak when his contract ran out, and he signed for Reading on a free transfer.

Career[]

Before Fulham[]

Fulham (2012)[]

On 31 January 2012, Pogrebnyak moved to Fulham on a 6 month deal for £440,000, with an option to move in the summer when he becomes a free agent. Awaiting his work permit, Pavel debuted 11 days later at Craven Cottage against Stoke, scoring the opening goal in a 2-1 win. He then continued this form with another goal in his second appearance two weeks later away to rivals Q.P.R., and a perfect hat-trick in his third match in an emphatic 5-0 win over Wolves. A final goal against Wigan ensured a successful spell at Fulham, finishing with 6 goals in 12 appearances and helping them to 9th place.

After Fulham[]

Despite a succesful spell at Fulham, and with the club wanting to secure his services for the following season, he was out of contract and free to talk to any club. Ultimately, he was lured to Reading by their Russian owner Anton Zingarevich and signed on a four-year deal, much to the disappointment of the Fulham fans. He had a reasonable first season with Reading, though not as emphatic as he was during his time at Craven Cottage, scoring 5 goals in 29 league games.
