Sam Tabares played for Fulham's academy as a centre back from 2023 until 2024. Born in England, he is also eligible to represent Colombia and Poland. He left to join Southampton after spending a season and a half with the club.

Career

Before Fulham

Sam played for Swindon Town's academy from 2019 until 2022, and also played for Bradfield Collegeprogressing to their first XI for one season before impressing Fulham in a friendly match for Bradfield at 17 years old. He also had interest from clubs such as Southampton and Manchester United, before choosing Fulham.

At Bradfield College, Sam comes from the same producer of fellow Fulham player, Callum McFarlane. Sam is a boyhood Chelsea fan.

Fulham (2023-2024)

Sam joined Fulham's academy from Dunstable Town in January 2023, making his debut for the U18 squad on 18 February 2023, playing the full 90 minutes in a 6-1 win away at Aston Villa. He later went on to sign a two-year scholarship deal with the club on 1 July 2023.

On 20 September 2023, Sam trained with the first team for the first time. He made his debut for the U21 squad on 8 January 2024, coming off the bench during a 3-1 win over Benfica B in the Premier League International Cup.

His professional debut came on 20 August 2024, when he came on as a late substitute during a 2-1 win awat at Shrewbury Town in the EFL Trophy. Only days later, he was to leave the club at the end of the transfer window.

After Fulham

Sam's signature for Southampton was announced on 31 August 2024 on a two-year deal.
