Upon his retirement as a player with Fulham at the end of the 2016-17 season, Scott joined his former club Tottenham Hotspur to become manager of their U18 squad. He spent only one season there before he returned to Fulham.
Fulham (2018-2021)[]
Scott re-joined Fulham as a first team coach, as they began the 2018-19 season in their first return to the Premier League.
It was a bad season for the club, and one which saw Slaviša Jokanović and his replacement Claudio Ranieri both sacked due to poor results. This gave Scott the chance to become the first team manager in March 2019, initially on a caretaker basis.
Despite relegation, Shahid Khan saw fit to offer the manager's position to Scott on a permanent basis in the summer of 2019. A successful 2019-20 season saw the club promoted once more via the Play-offs, beating West London rivals Brentford. Unfortunately, Scott could not prevent Fulham from a swift return back to the Championship the following year and left the club by mutual consent in the close season.
After Fulham[]
Scott was announced as the new manager of Bournemouth in the days following his departure from Fulham in June 2021. After a rumoured falling out with the chairman and after a 9-0 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool, he was sacked a little over a year later.
He was appointed manager of Club Brugge in Belgium on 31 December 2022, but was sacked a little over two months in the job following poor results.
