Seko Fofana is a midfielder who played at Fulham on loan from Manchester City during the 2014-15 season. Typically a box-to-box midfielder whose strength and passing is only a couple of his array of abilities, he had represented France up to U19 level until he turned his alligence to the Ivory Coast, with whom he has earned full international caps.

Career[]

Before Fulham[]

Seko represented French club Lorient and Manchester City at various youth levels, and flourished particularly at Man City where Patrick Vieira coaches him at U21 level. He has often drew comparisons to the likes of Vieira himself and Yaya Toure for his style of play.

Fulham (2014-2015)[]

Seko joined Fulham on 27 Nov 2014, the last day of the 'loan' window for an initial period of two months on a youth loan from Manchester City. He was given the number 12 shirt and made his debut two days later, coming on as a substitute in the 63rd minute against Brighton in a 2-1 victory.

Initially, he was hit and miss with the fans but over the course of the first 10 or so matches, to a point he won the majority over with his displays of high work rate and physical approach to the game. On 19 Jan 2015, it was announced that his loan had been extended until the end of the season.

He scored his first professional goal with the club in March 2015 when he scored the second in a 2-0 win away to Huddersfield Town. He finished his loan spell at the club at the end of the season, with 25 appearances in all competitions to his name.

After Fulham[]

Seko returned to Manchester City but was loaned out once more in the 2015-16 season, this time to Ligue 1 side Bastia.

He signed a five-year deal with Serie A side Udinese in 2016, in a transfer fee of £2.5 million plus future add-ons.
