Stefan Payne is a striker who was at Fulham from 2009 until 2010. A young forward plucked out of non-league obscurity, he never made it through to the first team in his short stay with the club.

Career[]

Before Fulham[]

Stefan played for Croydon as a young teen and after a few matches for the first team aged only 17, his abilities were noticed by Sutton United, who signed him for free the following season. After only 10 league matches and 6 goals, he moved to Fulham.

Fulham (2009-2010)[]

Stefan agreed terms with Fulham in September 2009. As the club was technically unable to sign a player out of the transfer windows, he joined up with the Development squad in October 2009. Handed a squad number of 48 in 2010, Stefan was unable to make a first team appearance in his short spell at the club and left in the summer of 2010.

After Fulham[]

He signed for Gillingham, making a handful of appearances and scoring a couple of goals but his career became somewhat of a journeyman as he never stayed longer than a year at a club until 2014, when he signed for Dover Athletic. His goalscoring ability shone whilst at the coastal club and Championship side Barnsley signed him in May 2016.
