Taye Ashby-Hammond played for Fulham's academy as a goalkeeper from 2008 until 2023. He was at the club from the age of 10 and had represented England up to U17 level. His younger brother Luca is also part of the club's academy.
Career[]
Before Fulham[]
Fulham (2008-2023)[]
Taye joined the club at a young age and progressed through the age categories before signing a scholarship in July 2015. During 2014, he gained caps with both the national U16 and U17 squads.
He progressed through to the U23 squad in 2017-18. He spent a short time on loan to Chipstead in 2019, before spending most of both the 2019-20 and 2020-21 season's on loan to Maidenhead United.
During pre-season 2021, Taye spent a short period on trial at Ipswich Town, playing the second 45 minutes in a friendly match against Colchester United, although shortly afterwards signed a one-year extension on his contract at Fulham. He was named in the matchday squad for the first team's EFL Cup 3rd round match against Leeds United on 21 Sept 2021 but was an unused substitute.
One month later, he was sent on loan to Boreham Wood for more first team experience. There, he helped the National League side reach the fifth round of the FA Cup as they faced Everton at Goodison Park. Taye would then earn a season-long loan move to Stevenage for the 2022-23 season.
He saw success with Stevenage in the FA Cup again, this time helping to beat Aston Villa. He managed 26 appearances for them in League Two but was ruled out for the rest of the season with a cartilage tear.
After Fulham[]
After a string of impressive performances for Stevenage the previous season, Taye signed for them permanently upon the opening of the 2023 summer transfer window on 14 June.
