Tayo Edun played as a central midfielder or left back for Fulham from 2008 until 2020. Originally a defender, he began playing more often as a central midfielder as he progressed through the age groups. Tayo has represented England up to U20 level and broke through to the first team in 2016-17 under Slaviša Jokanović.

Career

Fulham (2008-2020)

Tayo made his debut for the U18 squad in the 2013-14 season at the age of 15, but was kept to 10 appearances due to first choice left back Jordan Evans.

He signed scholarship terms in the summer of 2014 and after impressive displays was called up to the England U17 squad for the Nike Tournament in the United States. Shortly afterwards, he made his debut in Fulham's U21 squad and made several more throughout the second half of 2014-15.

After Tayo spent the whole of pre-season 2016-17 with the first team squad, he was given a spot on the bench for Fulham's first league fixture of 2016-17 at home to Newcastle United and was given the number 37 shirt. His debut came four days later as he played the full 90 minutes in a 3-2 win away to Leyton Orient in the first round of the League Cup.

He made his league debut on 18 November 2017, when he started in a 1-1 draw to Derby County at Craven Cottage.

On 3 August 2018, Tayo signed for Championship side Ipswich Town on a season-long loan. After a good start with a goal on his debut, Tayo had to return to Fulham shortly before the New Year due to an eye injury.

He failed to get back into the first team and in January 2020, left to join Licoln City.

After Fulham

Tayo signed for Lincoln on 10 January 2020 for an undisclosed fee. He spent just over a season and a half with the club before a deadline day move on 31 August 2021 to Championship side Blackburn Rovers.
