Thorsteinn Aron Antonsson played for Fulham's academy as a defender from 2020 until 2023. A towering 6ft 6 centre back, he is naturally strong in the air and had already played first team football aged 15 with UMF Selfoss in his native Iceland prior to his move to London.

Career

Before Fulham

Thorsteinn Aron was born and raised in Iceland, playing for UMF Selfoss in the Icelandic Second Division where he made 14 appearances, scoring two goals for their first team at only 15 years old.

He was later spotted by Fulham scouts whilst playing for UMF Selfoss at a youth tournament in Ukraine.

Fulham (2020-2023)

Thorsteinn Aron signed a two-year scholarship deal with Fulham in October 2020 and joined up with the U18 squad, making his debut the same month in a 4-1 victory away to West Bromwich Albion U18.

On 4 February 2022, he returned back to Iceland on a loan deal for the entirety of their season with top tier side UMF Stjarnan. This spell was cut slightly short as he was then loaned straight to his former club Selfoss on 2 August 2022, which ran until the end of the year.

In March 2023, he went on trial with Swedish club Östers IF. He ultimately re-signed for former club UMF Selfoss after his contract expired in the summer of 2023.

After Fulham

Thorsteinn officially re-signed for UMF Selfoss on 1 July 2023, having been on loan with the club for the entirety of the previous campaign.
