Overview

The U21 2022-23 season was a return for Fulham's second team as an Under-21 squad, having played as an Under-23 squad for the previous six seasons. The Premier League had decided to revert back to an U21 competition in order to reflect the average age of players that had competed in previous years.

Steve Wigley began his first full term as manager of the team, as Fulham competed in the top tier of the Premier League 2 for the first time since its inception. This was following on from a remarkable campaign in 2021-22 that earned them promotion as champions of Division 2.
